As a service provider to school districts in the state of Texas, this organization was missing key revenue opportunities as functional areas were operating with complete autonomy, and there were no global standards to meet the specific enterprise requirements. Broken processes remained broken as there was no mechanism to report or enforce strategic behavior.

What we delivered:
Implementing a data governance program shares responsibility and ownership equally among the different functional areas and the enterprise. The Data Governance council provides a point of control and decision-making authority while still allowing functional areas to continue to own their selective decisions and activities.
How we delivered:
TASB initiated an enterprise data quality and governance initiative and requested assistance from D3Clarity to develop a data governance strategy, provide best practices and consulting, and facilitate collaboration among the cross-functional data governance council activities. A Chief Data Office was created as part of the governance council—each business group and data domain self-assessed their performance, with the CDO frequently overseeing results. The Chief Data Office defines strategic data priorities.
TASB desired self-sufficiency in managing their data governance council program and looked to D3Clarity for not only consulting but also coaching and mentorship.
